Brain is an organ that integrates sensory information and controls movement. It is also involved in intellectual functions, such as speech, learning, thought and emotion. Aging causes shrink of the brain, change of vasculature and decline of cognition, which is tightly associated with stroke, neurodegenerative diseases and dementia. Although the brain changes with aging is clear, the mechanism underlying aging process is still largely unknown. Our session focuses on the theme for aging in the central nervous system, exploring the mechanism of brain aging and the strategy of intervention.
