The high-order function of a given tissue depends on the high-order structure. The recent progress on organoid culture provides a completely new tactics to generate complex structures and functions in vitro. Advances in this field, from intestine organoids to brain organoids, from single-cell type organoids to vascularized organoids, and from self-assembled organoids to 3D-fabricated organoids, not only present versatile tools for the study of developmental biology and disease modeling, but bring the regenerative medicine to an exhilarating frontier. This session will discuss the latest progress in engineering, mechanism discoveries and disease applications of organoids.
